My soul doth magnify my YAH, and my spirit hath rejoiced in EL my Saviour; For HE that is mighty hath done to me great things; and Holy is HIS Name. Now unto HIM who is ever present in my helpless estate; who is able to keep me from falling and to present me faultless before the presence of His Glory with exceeding joy, unto the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the only wise EL our Saviour be honour and glory and majesty, dominion and power both now and for ever Halleluyah!

GENESIS 4

1And Aḏam knew Ḥawwah his wife, and she conceived and bore Qayin, and said, “I have gained a man from יהוה.”

2And again, she gave birth to his brother Heḇel. And Heḇel became a keeper of sheep, but Qayin became a tiller of the ground.

3And it came to be, in the course of time, that Qayin brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to יהוה.

4And Heḇel also brought of the first-born of his flock and of their fat. And יהוה looked to Heḇel and his offering,

5but He did not look to Qayin and his offering. And Qayin was very wroth, and his face fell.

6And יהוה said to Qayin, “Why are you wroth? And why is your face fallen?

7“If you do well, is there not acceptance? And if you do not do well, sina is crouching at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should master it.”

8And Qayin told Heḇel his brother. And it came to be when they were in the field, that Qayin rose up against Heḇel his brother and killed him.

9And יהוה said to Qayin, “Where is Heḇel your brother?” And he said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s guard?”

10And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.

11“And now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

12“If you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”

13And Qayin said to יהוה, “My punishment is too great to bear!

14“See, You have driven me from the face of the ground today, and I am hidden from Your face. I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and it shall be that anyone who finds me kills me.”

15And יהוה said to him, “Well, if anyone kills Qayin, vengeance is taken on him sevenfold.” And יהוה set up a sign for Qayin, lest anyone finding him kills him.

16So Qayin went out from the presence of יהוה and dwelt in the land of Noḏ on the east of Ěḏen.

17And Qayin knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Ḥanoḵ. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Ḥanoḵ.

18And to Ḥanoḵ was born Iraḏ. And Iraḏ brought forth Meḥuya’ĕl, and Meḥuya’ĕl brought forth Methusa’ĕl, and Methusa’ĕl brought forth Lemeḵ.

19And Lemeḵ took for himself two wives, the name of one was Aḏah, and the name of the second was Tsillah.

20And Aḏah bore Yaḇal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents, with livestock.

21And his brother’s name was Yuḇal. He was the father of all those who play the lyre and flute.

22As for Tsillah, she also bore Tuḇal-Qayin, a smith of all kinds of tools in bronze and iron. And the sister of Tuḇal-Qayin was Na‛amah.

23And Lemeḵ said to his wives, “Aḏah and Tsillah, hear my voice! Wives of Lemeḵ, listen to my words! For I have killed a man for wounding me, even a young man for hurting me.

24“For Qayin is avenged sevenfold, and Lemeḵ seventy-sevenfold.”

25And Aḏam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and called his name Shĕth, “For Elohim has appointed me another seed instead of Heḇel, because Qayin had slain him.”

26And to Shĕth, to him also a son was born. And he called his name Enosh. Then it was begun to call on the Name of יהוהa.

GENESIS 5

1This is the book of the genealogy of Aḏam. In the day that Elohim created man, He made him in the likeness of Elohim.

2Male and female He created them, and He blessed them, and called their name ‘Aḏam’ in the day they were created.

3And Aḏam lived one hundred and thirty years, and brought forth a son in his own likeness, after his image, and called his name Shĕth.

4And after he brought forth Shĕth, the days of Aḏam were eight hundred years. And he brought forth sons and daughters.

5So all the days that Aḏam lived were nine hundred and thirty years, and he died.

6And Shĕth lived one hundred and five years, and brought forth Enosh.

7And after he brought forth Enosh, Shĕth lived eight hundred and seven years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

8So all the days of Shĕth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died.

9And Enosh lived ninety years, and brought forth Qĕynan.

10And after he brought forth Qĕynan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

11So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years, and he died.

12And Qĕynan lived seventy years, and brought forth Mahalal’ĕl.

13After he brought forth Mahalal’ĕl, Qĕynan lived eight hundred and forty years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

14So all the days of Qĕynan were nine hundred and ten years, and he died.

15And Mahalal’ĕl lived sixty-five years, and brought forth Yereḏ.

16And after he brought forth Yereḏ, Mahalal’ĕl lived eight hundred and thirty years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

17So all the days of Mahalal’ĕl were eight hundred and ninety-five years, and he died.

18And Yereḏ lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and brought forth Ḥanoḵ.

19And after he brought forth Ḥanoḵ, Yereḏ lived eight hundred years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

20So all the days of Yereḏ were nine hundred and sixty-two years, and he died.

21And Ḥanoḵ lived sixty-five years, and brought forth Methushelaḥ.

22And after he brought forth Methushelaḥ, Ḥanoḵ walked with Elohim three hundred years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

23So all the days of Ḥanoḵ were three hundred and sixty-five years.

24And Ḥanoḵ walked with Elohim. Then he was no more, for Elohim took him.

25And Methushelaḥ lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and brought forth Lemeḵ.

26And after he brought forth Lemeḵ, Methushelaḥ lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

27So all the days of Methushelaḥ were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.

28And Lemeḵ lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and brought forth a son,

29and called his name Noaḥ, saying, “This one does comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground which יהוה has cursed.”

30And after he brought forth Noaḥ, Lemeḵ lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and brought forth sons and daughters.

31So all the days of Lemeḵ were seven hundred and seventy-seven years, and he died.

32And Noaḥ was five hundred years old, and Noaḥ brought forth Shĕm, Ḥam, and Yepheth.

GENESIS 6

1And it came to be, when men began to increase on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,

2that the sons of Elohim saw the daughters of men, that they were good. And they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.

3And יהוה said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever in his going astray. He is flesh, and his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

4The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of Elohim came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, the men of name.

5And יהוה saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6And יהוה was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

7And יהוה said, “I am going to wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping creature and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

8But Noaḥ found favour in the eyes of יהוה.

9This is the genealogy of Noaḥ. Noaḥ was a righteous man, perfect in his generations. Noaḥ walked with Elohim.

10And Noaḥ brought forth three sons: Shĕm, Ḥam, and Yepheth.

11And the earth was corrupt before Elohim, and the earth was filled with violence.

12And Elohim looked upon the earth and saw that it was corrupt – for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth –

13and Elohim said to Noaḥ, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them. And see, I am going to destroy them from the earth.

14“Make yourself an ark of gopherwood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with tar.

15“And this is how you are to make it: The length of the ark is three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits.

16“Make a window for the ark, and complete it to a cubit from above. And set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks.

17“And see, I Myself am bringing floodwaters on the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life from under the heavens – all that is on the earth is to die.

18“And I shall establish My covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you.

19“And of all the living creatures of all flesh, two of each, you are to bring into the ark, to keep them alive with you – a male and a female.

20“Of the birds after their kind, and of the cattle after their kind, and of all creeping creatures of the earth after their kind, two of each are to come to you, to keep them alive.

21“As for you, take of all food that is eaten and gather it to yourself. And it shall be food for you and for them.”

22And Noaḥ did according to all that Elohim commanded him, so he did.

GENESIS 7

1And יהוה said to Noaḥ, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

2“Of all the clean beasts take with you seven pairs, a male and his female; and of the beasts that are unclean two, a male and his female;

3and of birds of the heavens seven pairs, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.

4“For after seven more days I am sending rain on the earth, forty days and forty nights, and shall wipe from the face of the earth all that stand that I created.”

5And Noaḥ did according to all that יהוה commanded him.

6Now Noaḥ was six hundred years old when the flood-waters were on the earth.

7And Noaḥ and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.

8Of the clean beasts and of the beasts that are unclean, and of birds, and of all that creep on the earth,

9two by two they went into the ark to Noaḥ, male and female, as Elohim had commanded Noaḥ.

10And it came to be after seven days that the waters of the flood were on the earth.

11In the six hundredth year of Noaḥ’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of the heavens were opened.

12And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.

13On that same day Noaḥ and Shĕm and Ḥam and Yepheth, the sons of Noaḥ, and Noaḥ’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, went into the ark,

14they and every living creature after its kind, and every beast after its kind, and every creeping creature that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort.

15And they went into the ark to Noaḥ, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life.

16And those going in, male and female of all flesh, went in as Elohim had commanded him, and יהוה shut him in.

17And the flood was on the earth forty days, and the waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.

18And the waters were mighty and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters.

19And the waters were exceedingly mighty on the earth, and all the high mountains under all the heavens were covered.

20The waters became mighty, fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.

21And all flesh died that moved on the earth – birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping creature that creeps on the earth, and all mankind.

22All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died.

23So He wiped off all that stand, which were on the face of the ground – both man and beast, creeping creature and bird of the heavens. And they were wiped off from the earth. And only Noaḥ was left, and those with him in the ark.

24And the waters were mighty on the earth, one hundred and fifty days.
