My soul doth magnify my YAH, and my spirit hath rejoiced in EL my Saviour; For HE that is mighty hath done to me great things; and Holy is HIS Name. Now unto HIM who is ever present in my helpless estate; who is able to keep me from falling and to present me faultless before the presence of His Glory with exceeding joy, unto the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the only wise EL our Saviour be honour and glory and majesty, dominion and power both now and for ever Halleluyah!

MARK 7

1And the Pharisees and some of the scribes assembled to Him, having come from Yerushalayim.

2And seeing some of His taught ones eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.

3For the Pharisees, and all the Yehuḏim, do not eat unless they wash their hands thoroughly, holding fast the tradition of the elders,

4and coming from the market-place, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other traditions which they have received and hold fast – the washing of cups and utensils and copper vessels and couches.

5Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your taught ones not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?”

6And He answering, said to them, “Well did Yeshayahu prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written, ‘This people respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.

7And in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’a

8“Forsaking the command of Elohim, you hold fast the tradition of men.”

9And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the command of Elohim, in order to guard your tradition.

10“For Mosheh said, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’

11“But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me, is Qorban (that is, a gift),” ’

12you no longer let him do any matter at all for his father or his mother,

13nullifying the Word of Elohim through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such traditions you do.”

14And calling the crowd to Him, He said to them, “Hear Me, everyone, and understand:

15“There is no matter that enters a man from outside which is able to defile him, but it is what comes out of him that defiles the man.

16“If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”

17And when He went from the crowd into a house, His taught ones asked Him concerning the parable.

18And He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside is unable to defile him,

19because it does not enter his heart but his stomach,a and is eliminated, thus purging all the foods?”

20And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man.

21“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil reasonings, adulteries, whorings, murders,

22thefts, greedy desires, wickednesses, deceit, indecency, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.

23“All these wicked matters come from within and defile a man.”

24And rising up from there He went to the borders of Tsor and Tsiḏon. And entering into a house He wished no one to know it, but it was impossible to be hidden.

25For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet.

26Now the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

27And יהושע said to her, “Let the children be satisfied first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”a

28But she answering, said to Him, “Yea, Master, for even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.”

29And He said to her, “Because of this word go, the demon has gone out of your daughter.”

30And having come into her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed.

31And again, going out from the borders of Tsor and Tsiḏon, He came to the Sea of Galil, through the midst of the borders of Dekapolis.

32And they brought to Him one who was deaf and spoke with difficulty, and they begged Him to lay His hand upon him.

33And taking him away from the crowd, He put His fingers in his ears, and having spit, He touched his tongue.

34And looking up to the heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”

35And immediately his ears were opened, and the binding of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking plainly.

36And He ordered them, that they should say it to no one, but the more He ordered them, the more they published it.

37And they were immeasurably astonished, saying, “He has done all well. He makes even the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak.”

MATTHEW 15

1Then there came to יהושע scribes and Pharisees from Yerushalayim, saying,

2“Why do Your taught ones transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.”

3But He answering, said to them, “Why do you also transgress the command of Elohima because of your tradition?

4“For Elohim has commanded, saying, ‘Respect your father and your mother,’ and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’

5“But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me has been dedicated,”

6is certainly released from respecting his father or mother.’ So you have nullified the command of Elohim by your tradition.

7“Hypocrites! Yeshayahu rightly prophesied about you, saying,

8‘This people draw near to Me with their mouth, and respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.

9‘But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’ ”a

10And calling the crowd near, He said to them, “Hear and understand:

11“Not that which goes into the mouth defiles the man, but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles the man.”

12Then His taught ones came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees stumbled when they heard this word?”

13But He answering, said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted shall be uprooted.

14“Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both shall fall into a ditch.”

15And Kĕpha answering, said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”

16And יהושע said, “Are you also still without understanding?

17“Do you not understand that whatever enters into the mouth goes into the stomach, and is cast out in the sewer?

18“But what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and these defile the man.

19“For out of the heart come forth wicked reasonings, murders, adulteries, whorings, thefts, false witnessings, slanders.

20“These defile the man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”

21And יהושע went out from there and withdrew to the parts of Tsor and Tsiḏon.

22And see, a woman of Kena‛an came from those borders and cried out to Him, saying, “Have compassion on me, O Master, Son of Dawiḏ! My daughter is badly demon-possessed.”

23But He did not answer her a word. And His taught ones came and asked Him, saying, “Send her away, because she cries after us.”

24And He answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”

25But she came and was bowing to Him, saying, “Master, help me!”

26And He answering, said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

27But she said, “Yea Master, for even the little dogsa eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”

28And יהושע answering, said to her, “O woman, your belief is great! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.

29And moving from there, יהושע came toward the Sea of Galil, and going up on the mountain, He was sitting there.

30And large crowds came to Him, having with them those who were lame, blind, dumb, crippled, and many others. And they laid them down at the feet of יהושע, and He healed them,

31so that the crowd marvelled when they saw the dumb speaking, the crippled well, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they praised the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl.

32And יהושע, having called His taught ones near, said, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they have now continued with Me three days and do not have whatever to eat. And I do not wish to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.”

33And His taught ones said to Him, “Where are we to get enough bread in the desert to satisfy such a large crowd?”

34And יהושע said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few little fish.”

35And He commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground,

36and taking the seven loaves and the fish, giving thanks, He broke them and gave to His taught ones, and the taught ones to the crowd.

37And all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up what was left over of the broken pieces – seven large baskets, filled.

38And those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children.

39And dismissing the crowd, He went into the boat, and came to the borders of Mag̅dala.
