My soul doth magnify my YAH, and my spirit hath rejoiced in EL my Saviour; For HE that is mighty hath done to me great things; and Holy is HIS Name. Now unto HIM who is ever present in my helpless estate; who is able to keep me from falling and to present me faultless before the presence of His Glory with exceeding joy, unto the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the only wise EL our Saviour be honour and glory and majesty, dominion and power both now and for ever Halleluyah!

JOB 10
1“My being has grown weary of life. I let loose my complaint, I speak in the bitterness of my being.

2I say to Eloah, ‘Do not declare me wrong, show me why You strive with me.

3Is it good to You that You should crush, that You should despise the work of Your hands, and shine on the counsel of the wrong?

4Do You have eyes of flesh? Do You see as man sees?

5Are Your days like the days of a mortal man? Are Your years like the days of a mighty man,

6that You should seek for my crookedness and search out my sin?

7For You know that I am not wrong, and there is no one to deliver from Your hand.

8Your hands have made me and shaped me, together all around, yet You destroy me.

9Remember, please, that You have made me like clay. And would You turn me into dust again?

10Did You not pour me out like milk, and curdle me like cheese?

11Skin and flesh you put on me, and wove me with bones and sinews.

12Life and kindness You have bestowed on me, and Your visitation has preserved my spirit.

13And these You have laid up in Your heart, I know that this was with You:

14If I sin, then You watch me, and let no crookedness of mine go unpunished.

15If I am wrong, woe to me! And if I am righteous, I would not lift up my head – filled with shame and seeing my grief!

16If I lift it up high, you hunt me as a lion, and again You would show Yourself marvellous against me.

17You renew Your witnesses against me, and increase Your vexation toward me; changes and a host are with me.

18So why have You brought me forth from the womb? Oh, that I had perished and no eye had seen me!

19I should have been as though I had not been – brought from the womb to the grave.

20Are not my days few? Then cease! Leave me alone, so that I brighten up a little,

21Before I go, and not return, to the land of darkness and the shadow of death,

22a land as dark as darkness itself, as the shadow of death, without any order, whose light is as darkness.”

JOB 11

1And Tsophar the Na‛amathite answered and said,

2“Should a multitude of words go un-answered? And should a man of lips be declared right?

3Should your babblings silence men? And should you mock, and no one make you ashamed?

4Since you have said, ‘My discourse is flawless, and I have been clean in Your eyes.’

5But if only Eloah would speak, and open His lips against you,

6and show you the secrets of wisdom, doubling your ability. Know then that Eloah forgets some of your crookedness for you.

7Would you find out Eloah by searching, or search out the end of the Almighty?

8It is higher than the heavens – what would you do? Deeper than the grave – what would you know?

9Their measure is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

10If He passes through and shuts up, and gathers, then who does reverse it?

11For He knows false men. When He sees wickedness does He not consider it?

12But a senseless man takes heart when a wild donkey’s colt is born a man!

13If you would prepare your heart, and stretch out your hands toward Him;

14if wickedness were in your hand, put it far away and do not let perverseness dwell in your tents;

15then indeed you shall lift up your face without spot; and you shall stand firm, and not be afraid,

16because you would forget sorrow, and remember it as waters that have passed away,

17and your life would be brighter than noon. You would soar upward, you would be like the morning.

18And you shall trust, because there is expectancy. And when you have searched you shall lie down in safety.

19And you shall rest, and no one would make you afraid, and many shall seek your favour.

20But the eyes of the wrong are consumed, and they shall not escape, and their expectancy is the breathing out of life!”

JOB 12

1And Iyoḇ answered and said,

2“Truly you are the people, and wisdom would die with you!

3But I, like you, have a heart too; I am not less than you. And who does not know such as these?

4I have become a laughing-stock to my friends – one who has called on Eloah and He answered him! A laughing-stock is the righteous, the perfect one!

5A lamp is despised in the thought of one who is at ease – prepared for those whose feet slip.

6The tents of robbers are at peace, and those who provoke Ěl are complacent, to him who brings Eloah into his hand!

7But now ask the beasts, and they teach you; and the birds of the heavens, and they declare it to you;

8or speak to the earth, and it teaches you; and the fish of the sea inform you.

9Who among all these does not know that the hand of יהוה has done this,

10in whose hand is the life of all that live, and the breath of all mankind?

11Does the ear not try words? And the mouth taste food for itself?

12With the aged is wisdom, and understanding with length of days.

13With Him are wisdom and might, He has counsel and understanding.

14Look, He breaks down, and it is not rebuilt. If He imprisons a man, there is no release.

15Look, He withholds the waters, and they dry up. And He sends them out, and they overwhelm the earth.

16With Him are strength and ability. The misled and the misleader are His.

17He leads counsellors away stripped, and makes judges go mad.

18He loosens the bonds of sovereigns, and binds a girdle on their loins;

19who leads away priests as a spoil, and overthrows the mighty;

20turning aside the lip of the trusted ones, and takes away the discernment of the elders;

21pouring scorn on nobles, and loosens the girdle of the strong;

22revealing deep matters out of darkness, and He brings the shadow of death to light;

23making nations great, and He destroys them; spreading out the nations, and He leads them out.

24turning aside the heart of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and He makes them wander in a pathless waste.

25They grope in darkness, having no light, and He makes them stagger like a drunkard.

JOB 13

1“Look, my eye has seen it all, my ear has heard and understood it.

2What you know, I know too; I am not less than you.

3But I would speak to the Almighty, and I delight to reason with Ěl.

4But you smear with falsehood, worthless healers, all of you!

5If you would only be silent, then it would be your wisdom!

6Please hear my reasoning, and listen to the pleadings of my lips.

7Would you speak perversely for Ěl, and speak deceit for Him?

8Would you be partial towards Him? Would you plead for Ěl?

9Would it be well when He searches you out? Or could you deceive Him as one deceives a man?

10He would certainly reprove you if you secretly show partiality.

11Should not His excellence make you afraid, and the dread of Him fall upon you?

12Your weighty sayings are proverbs of ashes, your shields are shields of clay.

13Be silent before me, and let me speak, and let whatever come upon me!

14Why do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hands?

15Though, He does slay me – I wait! But I show my ways to be right before Him.

16He also is my deliverance, for a defiled one does not come before Him.

17Listen closely to my words, and with your ears to what I say.

18Look, please, I have prepared my case, I know that I am in the right.

19Who is he who would strive with me? For then I would keep silent and die.

20Only two matters do not do to me, then I am not hidden from Your face:

21Withdraw Your hand far from me, and let not dread of You make me afraid.

22Then call, and let me answer; or let me speak, and You reply to me.

23How many are my crookednesses and sins? Let me know my transgression and my sin.

24Why do You hide Your face, and reckon me as Your enemy?

25Would You frighten a leaf driven to and fro? And would You pursue dry stubble?

26For You write bitter charges against me, and make me inherit the crookednesses of my youth,

27and put my feet in the stocks, and look closely to all my paths. You set a limit for the soles of my feet.

28And he, like that which is rotten, wastes away, as a garment that is moth-eaten.
