My soul doth magnify my YAH, and my spirit hath rejoiced in EL my Saviour; For HE that is mighty hath done to me great things; and Holy is HIS Name. Now unto HIM who is ever present in my helpless estate; who is able to keep me from falling and to present me faultless before the presence of His Glory with exceeding joy, unto the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, the only wise EL our Saviour be honour and glory and majesty, dominion and power both now and for ever Halleluyah!

2 CHRONICLES 2

1And Shelomoh gave word to build a House for the Name of יהוה, and a house for his reign.

2Then Shelomoh enrolled seventy thousand men to bear burdens, eighty thousand hewing stone in the mountains, and three thousand six hundred to oversee them.

3And Shelomoh sent to Ḥuram sovereign of Tsor, saying, “As you did for my father Dawiḏ, and sent him cedars to build himself a house to dwell in –

4see, I am building a House for the Name of יהוה my Elohim, to set it apart to Him, to burn before Him sweet incense, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths, and on the New Moons, and on the appointed times of יהוה our Elohim. This is for Yisra’ĕl forever.

5“And the House which I build is great, for our Elohim is greater than all mighty ones.

6“But who is able to build Him a House, since the heavens and the heavens of the heavens are unable to contain Him? Who am I then, that I should build Him a House, except to offer before Him?

7“And now, send me at once a man who knows to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze, and in iron, and in purple and crimson and blue, and knowing to engrave with the skilled men who are with me in Yehuḏah and Yerushalayim, whom Dawiḏ my father has prepared.

8“And send me cedar, cypress and algum logs from Leḇanon, for I know that your servants know to cut timber in Leḇanon. And see, my servants are with your servants,

9even to prepare plenty of timber for me, for the House that I am building is great and marvellous.

10“And see, I have given servants to you, the hewers who cut timber, twenty thousand kors of ground wheat, and twenty thousand kors of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.”

11Then Ḥuram the sovereign of Tsor answered in writing, which he sent to Shelomoh, “Because יהוה loves His people, He has made you sovereign over them.”

12And Ḥuram said, “Blessed be יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, who made the heavens and earth, for He has given Sovereign Dawiḏ a wise son, knowing wisdom and understanding, to build a House for יהוה and a house for his reign!

13“And now I have sent a skilled man having understanding, Ḥuram-aḇi,

14the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tsor, who knows to work in gold, and in silver, in bronze, in iron, in stone, and in wood, purple and blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson, and to make any engraving and to accomplish any plan that is given to him, with your skilled men and with the skilled men of my master Dawiḏ your father.

15“And now, the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine which my master has spoken of, let him send to his servants.

16“And let us cut wood from Leḇanon, as much as you need, and bring it to you in rafts by sea to Yapho, and you take it up to Yerushalayim.”

17And Shelomoh numbered all the men, the strangers who were in the land of Yisra’ĕl, according to the census in which Dawiḏ his father had numbered them, and they were found to be one hundred and fifty-three thousand six hundred.

18And he made seventy thousand of them to bear burdens, and eighty thousand hewers of stone in the mountain, and three thousand six hundred overseers to make the people work.

1And Shelomoh began to build the House of יהוה at Yerushalayim on Mount Moriyah, where He appeared to his father Dawiḏ, at the place that Dawiḏ had prepared on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Yeḇusite.

2And he began to build on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign.

3And these are the foundations which Shelomoh laid for building the House of Elohim: The length by cubits according to the former measure were sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits.

4And the porch that was in front was twenty cubits long according to the breadth of the house, and the height was one hundred and twenty. And he overlaid the inside with clean gold.

5And the great house he panelled with cypress which he overlaid with fine gold, and he carved palm trees and chainwork on it.

6And he covered the house with precious stones for comeliness, and the gold was gold from Parwayim.

7And he overlaid the house, the beams, the doorposts, and its walls, and its doors with gold, and carved keruḇim on the walls.

8And he made the House of the Most Set-apart. Its length was according to the width of the house, twenty cubits, and its width twenty cubits. And he overlaid it with fine gold, six hundred talents.

9And the weight of the nails was fifty sheqels of gold. And he overlaid the upper rooms with gold.

10In the Most Set-apart House he made two keruḇim of sculptured work, and overlaid them with gold.

11And the wings of the keruḇim: their total length was twenty cubits, one wing was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing was five cubits, touching the wing of the other keruḇ,

12and the wing of the other keruḇ was five cubits, touching the wall of the room, and the other wing also was five cubits, touching the wing of the other keruḇ.

13The wings of these keruḇim spread out twenty cubits, and they stood on their feet, and they faced inward.

14And he made the veil of blue and purple and crimson and fine linen, and worked keruḇim on it.

15And at the front of the House he made two columns thirty-five cubits high, and the capital that was on the top of each of them was five cubits.

16And he made wreaths of chainwork, as in the Speaking Place, and put them on top of the columns. And he made one hundred pomegranates, and put them on the wreaths of chainwork.

17And he set up the columns before the Hĕḵal, one on the right and the other on the left, and called the name of the one on the right Yaḵin, and the name of the one on the left Bo‛az.

1 KINGS 5

1And Ḥiram sovereign of Tsor sent his servants to Shelomoh, because he heard that they had anointed him sovereign in place of his father, for Ḥiram had always loved Dawiḏ.

2And Shelomoh sent to Ḥiram, saying,

3“You know my father Dawiḏ was unable to build a house for the Name of יהוה his Elohim because of the battles which were all around him, until יהוה put them under the soles of his feet.

4“But now יהוה my Elohim has given me rest all around, there is neither adversary nor evil incident.

5“And see, I intend to build a house for the Name of יהוה my Elohim, as יהוה spoke to my father Dawiḏ, saying, ‘Your son, whom I set on your throne in your place, he does build the house for My Name.’

6“And now, command that they cut down cedars for me from Leḇanon. And let my servants be with your servants, and let me pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who knows to cut timber like the Tsiḏonians.”

7And it came to be, when Ḥiram heard the words of Shelomoh, that he rejoiced greatly and said, “Blessed be יהוה this day, for He has given Dawiḏ a wise son over this great people!”

8And Ḥiram sent to Shelomoh, saying, “I have heard that which you sent me. Let me do all you desire concerning the cedar and cypress logs.

9“Let my servants bring them down from Leḇanon to the sea, then I put them in rafts by sea to the place you direct me. And I shall spread them out there, then you take them up, while you do my desire by giving food for my household.”

10And Ḥiram gave Shelomoh cedar and cypress logs – all his desire.

11And Shelomoh gave Ḥiram twenty thousand kors of wheat as food for his household, and twenty kors of pressed oil. Thus Shelomoh gave to Ḥiram year by year.

12And יהוה gave Shelomoh wisdom, as He promised him. And there was peace between Ḥiram and Shelomoh, and the two of them made a covenant.

13And Sovereign Shelomoh raised up compulsory labour out of all Yisra’ĕl. And the compulsory labour was thirty thousand men.

14And he sent them to Leḇanon, ten thousand a month by courses – they were one month in Leḇanon, two months at home. And Aḏoniram was over the compulsory labour.

15And Shelomoh had seventy thousand bearing burdens, and eighty thousand hewing stone in the mountains,

16besides three thousand three hundred from the chiefs of Shelomoh’s deputies who were over the work, those ruling over the people who laboured in the work.

17And the sovereign commanded, and they brought large stones, precious stones, to lay the foundation of the House with hewn stones.

18And Shelomoh’s builders, and Ḥiram’s builders, and the men of Geḇal did hew, and prepared timber and stones to build the House.

1 KINGS 6

1And it came to be, in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Yisra’ĕl had come out of the land of Mitsrayim, in the fourth year of the reign of Shelomoh over Yisra’ĕl, in the month of Ziw, which is the second month, that he began to build the House of יהוה.

2And the house which Sovereign Shelomoh built for יהוה was sixty cubits long, and twenty wide, and thirty cubits high.

3And the porch at the front of the hĕḵal of the House was twenty cubits long, according to the breadth of the House, and its width ten cubits, from the front of the House.

4And he made for the House windows with narrowed frames.

5And against the wall of the House he built rooms all around, against the walls of the House, all around the hĕḵal and the Speaking Place. Thus he made side rooms all around.

6The lowest side room was five cubits wide, and the middle one was six cubits wide, and the third one was seven cubits wide; for he made narrow ledges around the outside of the House, so as not to lay hold on the walls of the House.

7And the House, when it was being built, was built with finished stone made ready beforehand, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the House while it was being built.

8The doorway for the middle side room was on the right side of the House. And they went up by stairs to the middle side rooms, and from the middle to the third.

9So he built the House and completed it, and he panelled the House with beams and boards of cedar.

10And he built the side rooms of the structure against all the House, each five cubits high, and they were fastened to the House with cedar beams.

11And the word of יהוה came to Shelomoh, saying,

12“This House which you are building – if you walk in My laws, and do My right-rulings, and shall guard all My commands and walk in them, then I shall confirm My word with you, which I spoke to your father Dawiḏ,

13and shall dwell in the midst of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and not forsake My people Yisra’ĕl.”

14So Shelomoh built the House and completed it.

15And he built the walls of the House inside with cedar boards, from the floor of the House to the ceiling he panelled them on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the House with planks of cypress.

16And he built twenty cubits at the rear of the House, from floor to the walls, with cedar boards. And he built it inside as the Speaking Place, as the Most Set-apart Place.

17And the House was forty cubits, it is the hĕḵal before it.

18And the cedar for the House inside was carved with ornaments and open flowers; all was cedar, not a stone was seen.

19And he prepared the Speaking Place in the midst of the House, to place the ark of the covenant of יהוה there.

20And the front of the Speaking Place was twenty cubits long, and twenty cubits wide, and twenty cubits high. And he overlaid it with refined gold, and overlaid the altar of cedar.

21And Shelomoh overlaid the inside of the House with refined gold, and made gold chains pass over the front of the Speaking Place, and overlaid it with gold.

22Thus he overlaid the entire House with gold, until the entire House was completed. And the entire altar that was by the Speaking Place he overlaid with gold.

23And inside the Speaking Place he made two keruḇim of olive wood, ten cubits high.

24And one wing of the keruḇ was five cubits, and the other wing of the keruḇ five cubits – ten cubits from the tip of one wing to the tip of the other.

25And the other keruḇ was ten cubits. Both keruḇim were of the same size and shape.

26The height of one keruḇ was ten cubits, and so was the other keruḇ.

27And he placed the keruḇim in the midst of the inner house. And they stretched out the wings of the keruḇim so that the wing of the one touched one wall, and the wing of the other keruḇ touched the other wall. And their wings touched each other in the middle of the room.

28And he overlaid the keruḇim with gold.

29And he carved all the walls of the House all around, both inside and outside, with carved figures of keruḇim, and palm trees, and open flowers.

30And he overlaid the floor of the House with gold, inside and outside.

31And for the entrance of the Speaking Place he made doors of olive wood: the lintel, doorposts, a fifth.

32And the two doors were of olive wood. And he carved on them figures of keruḇim, and palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold. And he spread the gold on the keruḇim and on the palm trees.

33And so he made doorposts for the door of the hĕḵal of olive wood – a fourth part.

34And the two doors were of cypress wood, the two leaves of the one folded, and two leaves of the other door folded.

35And he carved keruḇim, and palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold laid smoothly on the carved work.

36And he built the inner courtyard with three rows of hewn stone and a row of cedar beams.

37In the fourth year the foundation of the House of יהוה was laid, in the month Ziw.

38And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, the eighth month, the house was completed in all its matters and according to all its plans. Thus he built it for seven years.
